Polka dots and January

Polka dots is not a new thing, but I kind of only now started to really really like them. I love this new top, I also wore it for a night out with skinny black trousers already and it was perfect too.  At the moment I’m on a hunt for a beautiful polka dot dress, I’m thinking white with black dots…And maybe even maxi dress to go with trainers…. Mmm, I’ve just started day dreaming. I can visualise this perfect dress but I haven’t found it yet, I’m sure I will and once I do I will share it with you all.

I also wanted to talk about the first month of 2018. It has flown by though and I can’t believe it’s February already! But it was quite a productive month for me but not as productive as I’d like. So there is room for improvement in February ( I have a very high standards for myself and others around me…).

So what happened in my life in January? It started not so well really as I had laptop issues first day back at work, I had to travel to Birmingham on the 2nd Jan to get it sorted, which I’ve done, but then I had a second crash two weeks later… I was so annoyed then. But good news, it got sorted again! So happy ending here.

My boyfriend’s birthday is in January too! I’d rather it wasn’t straight after Christmas and New Year but oh well… That’s something I can’t change. And we actually had a really good time in Manchester on a Tuesday night it was I think. And went to the Lake District for a weekend later on.  We had a relaxed few days there, which was perfect. We usually stay in Langdale Hotel in Lakes but this time decided to stay in Moss Grove Organic Hotel in Grasmere. I loved it and that reminds me that I should leave a review on Tripadvisor. I really loved all vegan, organic, gluten free, dairy free options at breakfast.

I went to Manchester Fashion Ball, which was on the 1st Feb actually but it’s almost January, right? It was really great event and was lovely to see everyone dressed up as the theme was Peaky Blinders. I’ll be honest, I’ve never seen Peaky Blinders because I don’t watch or even have a TV set at home (yeah yeah I know it’s weird). So I had to google to see what Peaky Blinders are about. And I’ve decided it’s very close to Great Gatsby theme wise (which I have seen, for a change, as I do watch films).

The craziest thing I’ve done this month though was register for Manchester Marathon on the 8th April which is in 8 weeks now. And it is freezing cold outside, so training is hard. Yesterday it was -4 degrees so I went to a gym to run on a treadmill instead. An official distance of marathon is 42.195 kilometres (26.219 miles, or 26 miles 385 yards). The longest I’ve run this year is 12 km. I’ve done Chester Half Marathon in 2015 though , but I’ve stopped running after that. So yeah… wish me luck.

And lastly, a date has been finally announced for Manchester Fashionista Meetup! It’s on the 21st Feb @19:00 at the Refinery in Spinningfields. If you would like to join please register and RSVP HERE. I’m really looking forward to meet other fashionistas, people who works in fashion business, studies fashion, looking to start in fashion or just loves fashion in general.

To sum up, it was actually not a bad month. But I’m sure February is going to be even better.

You can find my outfit details at the end of the post as per usual.
